  • We administer and enforce harbor laws fairly, respectfully, and without bias or malice.

  • We strive to provide safe, efficient, and customer-focused harbor services, continually seeking ways to improve access, navigation, and facilities for recreational boaters, commercial users, and residents alike.

  • We respect the rights of all—balancing public access to Connecticut’s waterways with the rights of shoreline property owners and stakeholders.

  • We support lawful waterborne commerce, recognizing its vital role in Connecticut’s economy and community life.

The badge of Harbor Master is a symbol of our responsibility to serve in this capacity. We accept it as a public trust to be held as long as we are charged with these duties. We will dedicate ourselves to our chosen profession, that of “Harbor Master”.
